To Greatstate Transmissions,

Around 6 years ago I took my car into one of your competitors for a "transmission fluid change." When they dropped the pan they found "metal shavings." I was told my transmission needed to be rebuilt.

I was told it would cost around $1,200. What could I do but agree? They told me that I'd get my car the next day. Day after day they told me "the parts haven't come in yet." I got my car a week later at a cost of $2,300 with a 3,000 or 3-month warranty.

Recently I had transmission problems and was told to take my car to you (by someone I hadn't learned to trust yet). You dropped the pan and (AGAIN) found metal shavings and were told I needed my transmission rebuilt.

AGAIN I was told it would be this amount and I'd get my car Monday or Tuesday. I called Monday and was told "the part didn't come in". Tuesday I was told the same thing. So far everything was the same nightmare that I'd remembered!

You had sent me to a car rental place that gave you a "special" discount. They told me the special was "last" week. I was feeling very abused.

Wednesday I called and was told the part came in and I'd have my car that afternoon. I showed up early to wait it out. I mentioned that I didn't get your "special" discount for the rent car. You called and got the discount.

I was treated like royalty while I was there. I was impressed but I figured I was being "buttered" up for the worst yet to come.

It was coming up on closing time. I was expecting to be told "we have to finish your car tomorrow." Since I live out of town this would mean a hotel.

INSTEAD, you stayed open well past closing until my car was "perfect". The total cost was not a penny more than I was quoted and the warranty was 12 months with unlimited miles! I was given a "goodie" bag (anyone would love) and told to come back in two weeks for a "free" checkup! I kept waiting for the other shoe to fall and it didn't. I left feeling so guilty for coming in with an "attitude". This had been almost painless! I have NEVER been so impressed with ANY repair shop as I am with yours!

THANKS,
Veronica Jackson
